Orka Magma Hot Plate was exactly what we were looking for with this type of product. Two key factors for use are (1) knowing the wattage of your microwave so that you are heating the plate to it's fullest capacity (2 minutes for 1,000 and 3 minutes for 750) and (2) the understanding that it's a warming piece, not a cook surface.
