I've had 3 of these in the last 10 years (I don't baby my coffeemakers, and eventually the hard water kills them). I am not the patient type, so I prefer the Bunn because it makes a full pot in 3 mins. I can start the coffee, get the cup and the creamer, and the coffee is ready.

I prefer this version over the newer one, as I am not too certain of the swivel lid on the newer ones remaining flat and not breaking.

With an adjustable leg it allows for a level large base cooking element for many different sizes of pots or pans. We did finally purchase these because our Fiestaware plates are so thick, they pull the heat from your food. These heat mats definitely do what they claim, but there are a couple of things that concerned us. First, they DO smell like a car tire when heated. You don't have to have a sensitive nose to get this. The smell of car tires isn't the worst thing, but I don't think it's very appetizing, either.
