This coffee maker is noticeably better made than the usual 4 cup cheaper models. It's also fairly quiet if that matters to you and has an auto shut off for the burner.No nasty plastic smells or tastes like many are complaining about with other 4 and 5 cup makers.

I figured the Island Blend coffee would be similar to what you get in most hotel rooms but it's not even up to that mediocre standard. I think it's half recycled pencil shavings or sawdust. Honestly it even smells...
