The interior glass plate can't be properly stabilized, so anything that weighs more than a few ounces (a mug of coffee water, for instance) bumps and slides and spills its contents as it rotates. Also, it gives off a strong Polyvinyl chloride smell when heating which hasn't "out-gassed" away even after a month of use.
I bought the SMO 701 A7E from Target because it was white, one of the cheapest and American owned.
