These are cheap and thin - you get what you pay for.
Even though they're thin, they are relatively rigid (meaning they won't bend with food on them). But the way they made them rigid is to have a large wide raised outer edge.
The effect of this raised area is that there is only about 4.5 to 5" of useful plate area, unlike rigid plastic nearly-flat 6" plates that have a true 6" of usable area.
But a lot of plates for a great price.
